Matthew 24:42
Well this week was a very good week in many respects! Our grandson spent a couple of days with us this week and it always a joy when we spend time with our little grandchildren! We enjoy them sooooo much! His Papa was off a couple of days this week so the timing for him to be able to be here was perfect. Here he is riding on his rocking horse! Landon & Sierra both love to ride this horse! I have a picture of Sierra riding this same horse previously on my blog!

And this week has been a bit of a sad week too. I have missed my daddy terribly this week. I mean, I miss him everyday, but you know sometimes the missing is just harder, if you know what I mean. As I was watching Landon play, I just knew how proud my daddy would have been of his great grandchildren, Landon and Sierra. He always loved children and children loved him too. So sad that they will never know him. I lost daddy in 2003 to cancer. I guess God must have known the hurt left behind from the loss of my daddy because the very next hear he gave me two beautiful grandbabies to love! And they have been such a blessing and just fill my heart with joy!
In between I did get some painting done. As a matter of fact, a couple of items! One is a little side table or plant stand painted a crisp white and embellished with hand painted pink roses. Here it is holding my angel!
And here is a closer look at the top of the table.
And guess what else! I found an old goose neck type lamp. Someone had painted it ivory in it's past life and it does have some chipping in the paint, especially on the goose neck part of the lamp, but that's ok. Just adds to the charm in my opinion! So I brought it home with me and added some soft background colors and then painted my fluffy hand painted roses on it.

And here it is all painted up!
Come back soon now!

Barbara,
I am so teary reading your post about your Daddy. I can only imagine how you feel. My heart goes out to you and I'm sending you hugs! The Lord in deed took care of you by sending you, your very own little angels to love and I know you love them! Your paintings are beautiful as always.
Hugs,
Laurie
Pretty roses!
The pain never goes away, does it... just varies in its degrees. However, you have a wonderful view of how God helps us deal with it, in that he gave you Grandchildren the next year. Thank you for the inspiration, and for the view of the lovely table and lamp! :)
I miss my Dad too...and my Mom. (HUGS)
Love the rose painted table and lamp!
Thanks for visiting my blog and saying such nice words about my home....come back soon!
