Waiting on Fall.....

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16

I was looking soooooo forward to a nice crisp fall morning to wake up to today! I love fall! Love the bright, vibrant colors of the leaves, especially the gorgeous maple trees, the crispness of the air, you know that little nip of cool morning air so I can be lazy and snuggle up in my warm bed, the smell of home baked goodies.... hot chocolate.....ahhhhhhhhhhhh....... BUT NOOOOOOO!!!! No such luck today!!! It was nearly 90 degrees here today. And no crisp morning air either. I think it was like 67 or 68 degrees here this morning. Much cooler than the sweltering, humid temperatures that we have awakened to in the recent past days here in the hot, muggy south. I wait...but not too patiently!
But I did wake up to this cutie pie bringing me sweet kisses this morning! And that was a true blessing! And I am thankful!!

This afternoon my husband and I wanted to get out for a bit. So we headed north to a little town called Sautee (pronounced saw tee, with accent on the tee) There is a little old store there called Old Sautee Store that we go pretty often. I meant to take my camera with me so that I could post of picture of this old store that was founded in 1872. With it's rustic old charm it is a just such a charming place to visit. The main two things that I go there for is their Farmers Cheese and their cloth calenders. My husband and I have gone there every year since we have been married to buy a cloth calendar and we still have them all. Well, last year they had some samples of their cheeses and I tried their Farmers Cheese. Oh my gosh....LOVE this cheese! The Farmers Cheese is from Sweden and let me tell you, it is awesome! You can order it on line too. And they carry cheeses from all over the world, old time candy, hand made soaps, pickles and relishes, jellies and fruit butter, cookbooks and just soooo much more. Today I saw some very nice fair-isle hats and mittens. In case you didn't know, I am a knitter, so I have a huge respect for those hand knit items. I loved them, especially the mittens. They were made so that they could be fingerless and also so that you could cover the fingers. Wish I could find a pattern for some of those! They would make nice gifts. Their on-line shop doesn't reflect all of the goodies that they sell.I wish they had a picture of the mittens out there on their website because I would love for someone to head me in the direction of a pattern for them. Though I had hoped for a little bit of a nip in the air, I still have to say that I enjoyed our trip there! It is always so much fun to go into that little old shop. If you want to visit the store on line just go to www.oldsauteestore.com. If you click on the "Browse Our Store" link you can see what the old store looks like on the inside. I hope you will visit there!

What a great day you had! Kisses from your beautiful (he's a doll) grandbaby and a trip with your sweetie! Now, I want to visit the Old Sautee Store! It sounds heavenly! I would love to send you the freezing mornings we have had. A nice coating of ice on the windhshield! Can you hear the sarcasm? I would gladly share that with you, as long as I got some red foliage. How I would love to have a maple tree. Have a great day!
