Last week I went to visit my Momma & my sister. We met up at Momma's house and we got out for a bit and did a little shopping at Target and then pigged out at Arby's on French Dips and Cherry Turnovers. I should have passed on the Cherry Turnovers, but well.... my sister had one!! I wasn't about to sit there and watch her eat one and not have one of those flakey pastries to savor myself! Anway, onto my story.... I have been looking for a new trash can for my newly redecorated bathroom. I'll show you photos when I get time to take some. One of the things that I love about my bathroom are my mirrors. We have a double sink in that bathroom and we hung etched glass mirrors (I think they call these Venetian Mirrors) centered over each sink. Well just so happens that Target has the perfect trash can to go in my bathroom. It is one that is a part of the "Shabby Chic" collection line. I love her stuff, don't you? It is made of etched mirrors too! And they have the other accessories too, like soap dispenser, tissue box cover, etc. So while we were at Target's I thought I would just go on over there and pick me up one. Oh my goodness.... the pretty little trash can is $35.00! Now, don't get me wrong.... I do love it! But I can not for the life of me warrant spending $35.00 for a teeny tiny little trash can. Just can not do it. Call me cheap I guess. You can check it out at http://www.target.com/Simply-Shabby-Chic-Silver-Wastebasket/dp/B000JEEQLG/ref=in_de_detail-buybox-with-variations/602-7260376-7388608

Isn't it such a pretty container to hold your trash? But I am not going to pay $35.00 for it. No way! My goodness!!!

While I was at Momma's I asked if I could borrow a few pictures from her. I wanted to upload a picture to my profile of when I was a little girl. I had a specific one in mind and she found it right away. She had it tucked in her wallet still... Now I have yet to figure out how to get the picture uploaded to my profile. But maybe in time I will figure it out.

As you all know, my father passed away a few years ago. And you know that I have been missing him just bunches and bunches. Well while we were going thru some of Momma's pictures I picked a little plastic envelope that she had and I opened it up unknowing of what I was to find. As soon as I opened it, I welled up with tears. There they were. A very old photo of Momma and Daddy embraced in a kiss in their younger years.

I began to wipe the tears that were forming in the corners of my eyes. I said "oh gosh momma... I'm gonna cry." I kept fighting back the tears because I just hate to cry. As I looked below the photo there was a little clipping that Momma had tucked in with the picture.

And here it is:

Well, there was no holding back the tears......

We miss you Daddy. We love you so much. Momma and Daddy were married for 49 years before Daddy passed away. A lifetime....

Ecclesiastes 3:
1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

7A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

8A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

How beautiful! It's ironic because I actually just wrote a note to have my son pick up some of my parents old photo albums this afternoon. Mom grew up on an apple orchard and I thought it would be fun to show some pictures now that it's Fall. However, the last time I borrowed pictures from my dad's wallet, I lost them! I may be banned... =) Blessings... Polly
