Today was a lazy day! For the second day this winter, Georgia got snow! The first came on Wednesday night, January 16th. It came in the night time and was just so beautiful. We awoke to a perfect blanket of white snow. Untouched and beautiful. We only got a couple of inches and it was almost all gone by around two in the afternoon. Just enough and just long enough to bless us with a beautiful sight! By Friday our temps were in the low 50's. But this morning we got another surprise of snow. I don't think that it was quite as much as we received on Wednesday. This time it was only about an inch. But tonight will be around 17 degrees with wind chills around 5 to 7 degrees. So I expect that it will still be here tomorrow. And 17 degrees, well that is a bit nippy here for our beautiful southern state!
I relaxed today watching tv and just doing some relaxing knitting. I began to knit a tote bag that I am going to felt. So though I was content and enjoying the lazy day, my husband was getting a bit antsy just sitting around. He doesn't sit still for too long and by around 4 o'clock he wanted to run out and grab a bite to eat. We drove to a nearby town, Dahlonega, to stop in a rib shack that he likes to frequent. The closer that we got to Dahlonega, the less and less snow we saw. There was barely a dusting of snow. I mean just a teeney, tiney bit of snow. And our rib shack was closed! And so was the Mexican food restaurant, Moes, which was next door. I guess that you can tell that we celebrate the snow! Everyone runs out to get bread, and milk and snacks in case we get "snowed in". Schools close down. Stores close early or don't open at all. As a matter of fact, though there was very little snow on our roads on Wednesday from the snow, the schools closed down anyway and took a snow day! I guess that they don't want to take any chances of harm to our children. And well, face it, our state doesn't have the resources to handle too much snow, as we get so little of it I guess the funds go for other necessities.

Anyway, I thought I would share what little bit of snow we got with you all! This was today's snowfall.
Not much huh? But that's okay with this southern lady! Though it is beautiful and I love it for a DAY, I just am not a snow kind of gal. After one day, I am ready for beautiful clear blue skies! But I am thankful for it! With the drought here, we can use the percipitation, even if it does come in the format of snow!
Keeping warm in snowy Georgia,

It looks beautiful! I hope this is all you all get. I sure would hate for you to have to use your wood stove! lol! We are having the same temperatures. It was almost 20 today.
