Oh... I am almost too late, but am making it just the same!! I am joining in this week with Sue Loves Cherries for Red Wednesday. No...correction! That's REDNESDAY! And also to Work of the Poet for Ruby Tuesday!
I would love to share some sundae glasses that I hand painted! And just so happens that they have cherries painted on them!
I love hand painted glassware and it is one of my favorite surfaces to paint. I think these would add a cute touch to a kitchen, do you? In fact, I need to paint a set of these for my own kitchen as I have sold all of the ones that I painted along the way!
Lots of times in my thrifting hunts I find some great vintage craft magazines. Remember the Golden Hands Magazines from the 1970's? Filled with great inspirations for crafters from basic embroidery stitches, knitting, crochet, patchwork, blackwork, smocking and so much more in those pages! Each week you could receive another inspirational craft magazine.Look at the one above. Great graphics don't you think? And look at the pendant that she is wearing, which is from metal thread embroidery!
This one says "Knit a sunsuit and embroider a sunflower / In Collector's Piece: a hoot of owls"
This one says "Sew quick fashion patchwork, Jacket in Crochet" and I also noticed on the inside pages about embroidery on tulle. Sounds interesting!
Needlepoint, blackwork embroidery, needle made lace like Danish lace, and more!
The Golden Hands magazines have things for those who like to sew too!
Look at the needlepoint cuff bracelet around the wrist of the model! Oh....see that! Knit a baby sacque too!
Ideas for dressmaking and smocking.
This one has an introduction to goldwork.I have a huge collection of these Golden Hands magazines! Some of them are in my Southern Lady's Vintage etsy shop and some are in my Southern Lady's Vintage Artfire shop and some are still sitting in my office just waiting for me to photograph and list. So if anyone is looking for any that you may be missing from your collection I just might be able to help you! You can contact me thru my shops and I will see what I can do!

I love the enormous blooms of these pink peonies. And the fragrance is wonderful! But these little dickens do attract ants! I once had several kinds of peonies in pink and red. Reminder....don't let hubby weed the garden, especially before these break ground in the spring. I think he is unknowingly throwing away the tuberous roots when he cleans the garden in early spring! I really should get a marker or next spring I may not have any peonies at all. And of course when I say "honey, what happened to my peonies?" I know that I will hear "what peonies? I haven't done anything to anything." Yeah,.....right. And I think that the same thing happened to a good bit of my beautiful hosta that I had planted in that has somehow disappeared too. Some that I have had for at least 16 years. He hasn't done any thing with those either... yeah......sure!
This is Spiderwort or Tradescantia and is also known as "cow slobber" in some areas. Yes... cow slobber, most likely because of it's goey sap. My father gathered some Spiderwort from his brother's yard many years ago and he brought a few small pieces back to me. It's very easy to propogate thru stem cuttings or seeds.

Lamb's Ear. I love it's texture and for brightening the garden. I can remember when I was a child my aunt had some lamb's ear growing in her garden. She explained to me how the plants leaves feel like the soft velvety texture of a lamb's ear and allowed me to touch it. When I started gardening I believe I bought a one gallon container. It is also super easy to propogate. When the flower stalks die I just allow them to remain for a while and wait for the seeds to dry. The seeds are very tiny. I just shake the stalks where I want to grow some more Lamb's Ear and the tiny seeds fall to the ground and next spring I will have more Lamb's Ear.
